Root Canal Retreatment

If you are experiencing an abnormal amount of discomfort or pain in a tooth that recently had a root canal treatment performed on it, it is important to have our experienced endodontists diagnose the problem. If the previous root canal treatment left some infected tissue behind or a canal was missed or untreated, the tooth may need a root canal retreatment. Our team at Sherman Endodontics specializes in endodontic procedures like this and can save your tooth and stop the infection from progressing.

Retreatment Options

Depending upon how soon you have the failed root canal diagnosed and treated, there are a few different options available to you. The treatment with the highest success rate is a root canal retreatment from a qualified endodontist like Dr. Matt Lloyd and Dr. Paul Clark. Our team will remove the prior filling, clean and disinfect the canals of each root in the tooth, and reseal it once again with a proper filling. Other cases where retreatment is not possible or does not have the best prognosis may require an apicoectomy. For the most extreme cases or those that were not caught in time, the tooth may need to be extracted.

Endodontic Treatments

Our team specializes in the treatment of dental injuries, especially when these injuries damage or compromise the pulp of the tooth. We will strive to save and restore your teeth after injuries and make an effort to use top-of-the-line equipment and methods to give you the treatment you deserve, working hard to go far above the usual standards of the dental field.
